Most organizations think of trust as a cultural outcome. AI-native organizations must treat trust as a system property. When intelligence begins to influence decisions at scale, trust can no longer rely on goodwill, transparency statements, or leadership intent. It must be designed, embedded, and reinforced by how the system behaves every day.

In conventional organizations, trust is built through relationships, experience, and institutional memory. Leaders trust teams they know. Teams trust leaders they have worked with. Decisions are trusted because they come from familiar authority. Software, when introduced, is assumed to be neutral, deterministic, and subordinate to human judgment.
